Dr Angela Chan is a Senior Consultant and Head of the Rheumatology Section at the Department of General Medicine, Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. She graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and obtained her postgraduate Master of Medicine degree (Internal Medicine) from NUS and Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (United Kingdom). She completed her Internal Medicine Residency, became Chief Resident, and completed her senior residency in Rheumatology in NHG. She also obtained her graduate diploma in Geriatric Medicine from NUS.
She was awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan in 2022 and completed her fellowship training in Geriatric Rheumatology in Perth, Western Australia. Following this, she established the Geriatric-Rheumatology outpatient service in KTPH.
She is a member of the KTPH & YCH Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee, and serves as the Department Data Protection Lead. She became a fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore, served on the Young Members’ Committee of the College of Physicians and currently serves as a board member of the Chapter of Rheumatologists, College of Physicians, Academy of Medicine. She is also a committee member of the Singapore Society of Rheumatology.
Dr Chan is actively involved in medical research and medical education. She serves as a Clinical Senior Lecturer with NUS, Adjunct Senior Lecturer and Clinical Course Lead for Year 3 OSCEs with NTU Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, and is part of the NHG Resident Physician Faculty.
